Background
My key interest is promoting sustainable development solutions through innovative mechanisms such as markets for environmental services such as REDD+ and other PES schemes. Currently I am an Advisor for Conservation International’s Carbon Fund. In this role, I provide technical assistance to CI’s regional field programs in the design and implementation of forest carbon initiatives. I have contributed to the development of several Project Design Documents (PDDs) and supported their validation and verification under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), and the Climate, Community, and Biodiversity Standards (CCBS) for a number of projects in Ecuador, Peru, the Philippines, Madagascar, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. I have also led and contributed to the development of several feasibility studies for REDD+ initiatives in Cambodia, Indonesia, Peru and Colombia. In addition to the project development work, I also support the development and delivery of training events related to climate change and REDD+ in countries where CI operates, with active participation in more than 10 trainings in 7 countries.
