Background
I was Professor of Environmental Sciences and Policy and Director of the Institute for the Environment at the University of North Carolina for 30 years prior to joining the University of Cambridge. My interests are in computational models for environmental science; risk analysis; uncertainty analysis; and climate policy assessment. In regard to conservation issues, my interests lie in multi-criteria assessment of land development, and the implications of economic development of land on human health and climate risk. I currently serve on an array of national and international advisory panels in the US, UK, China, Japan and Abu Dhabi.
